Keto Cocktails – Raspberry Daiquiri
Now that the summer is starting to come to and end, I thought it was time to break out one of my favorite cocktails. The raspberry daiquiri is a perfect summer drink, and not too complicated to make keto friendly.

The Raspberry Daiquiri
This is a pretty straightforward recipe. We’re simply substituting higher carbohydrate strawberries with raspberries and swapping sugar with stevia. Unfortunately, it does still contain 4g net carbs, so don’t go overboard with this one.
Options
For a more smoothie-like consistency, a tablespoon of heavy cream will still mix with the alcohol in the blender. If you want something a little more flavorful, instead of ice or water, I would add the cherry limeade sparkling ice. However, you shouldn’t put that in the blender. After everything else is blended together, stir in the sparkling ice with a bar spoon. One comment I received from this drink was that it isn’t as sweet as a strawberry daiquiri. I’m a fan of raspberries and never really considered them bitter, but feel free to add as much stevia as you’d like to sweeten up the beverage.

In the mean time, here are some of my personal favorite low-carb cocktails and mixers.
- Vodka and Sparkling Ice, a low carb classic. Quite possibly the easiest keto beverage to make, these come in at 0g net carbs. Sparkling Ice has my favorite variety of full flavors, but the sucralose used in them is higher GI than some other artificial sweeteners. If you’re just looking for a light flavor, you might want to opt for something like bubbly or LaCroix.

- Any unflavored liquor on the rocks. While not exactly a cocktail, it’s the easiest way to ensure you aren’t getting carbs in your diet.
Disclaimers
Please consume alcohol responsibly. Don’t drink and drive.
Keto information: It’s fine to drink on the keto diet, however, you should avoid drinking in excess. If you’re doing this for fat loss, alcohol isn’t going to help you. The human body recognizes alcohol as a toxin, and therefore processes alcohol out of your body before anything else. That includes fat. If you’re consuming alcohol in excess, you’re basically making your liver work overtime to process that instead of the fat you’re trying to burn.
Again, drink responsibly in terms of consuming alcohol in general, but also from a health standpoint. Moderation is key.
